Henry’s Biscuits with the Boss Third Birthday Party

First off, if you haven’t watched Ted Lasso, please run and go watch that and then return to this blog post.

Okay hi!

All toddler parents probably know that the real boss of your family is, in fact, your toddler (lol). Okay it’s kind of a bit, but also kind of not, and really just lended itself to an amazing theme.

Henry started playing soccer this spring, and while he spends much of the time picking grass and picking up the practice balls that aren’t even on the field, I still felt like a Ted Lasso-themed party would be fun and relevant. And THEN, the week before the party, Jason Sudekis announced that they’re currently writing Ted Lasso Season 4!!!! I’m not gonna say we manifested that, but I’m not not gonna say that either.

Okay anyway.

Starting with the invitations: I chose to use Ted’s classic coach jacket look as the background to add some intrigue. But my personal favorite part of the invitation is the envelope (light pink to match the iconic biscuit boxes from the show), plus I hand-drew some boxes for the envelope liner, too. I think Rebecca would approve.

Some Barnett Crafted touches

I used my trusty turf table runner, and from there ran with all the show’s jokes for food + tented place cards, signage, and take home gifts: assorted breakfast biscuits (with the boss), goldfish (obviously), and coffee (no garbage water!!!). These stickers on the coffee sleeves still make me laugh when I see them. I baked the famous biscuits and had them in little pink boxes (of course) that also included a soccer fidget ball and a little army man (to protect you, duh). And as a final touch on the boxes, a sticker with the AFC Richmond logo reinvented to wish Henry a happy birthday and thank everyone for coming. I ~ believe ~ we did an amazing job celebrating Henry.

Just a reminder that even though you haven’t seen a theme before, it doesn’t mean we can’t run with it. Keep checking the blog to see what we’ll come up with next!

Thanks for being here,
